"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter, and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." --Abraham Lincoln
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can excercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it." -- Abraham Lincoln
"We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." --Abraham Lincoln
"When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is freedom." --Thomas Jefferson.
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship." --Patrick Henry
“Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right” --Abraham Lincoln

Over the mountain and through the hills
That is what I do to go to the dentist. Had my teeth cleaned today. Love that feeling. Need to go back in a couple of weeks to have two broken fillings replaced. Wish my dental needs were less. I grind and tap my teeth in my sleep which is very hard on dental work and teeth in general. I wear a mouth guard to protect my teeth now but I don't think it fits properly and have to discuss that with the dentist at my appointment.
Each time I make the trip from our town to Colorado Springs I marvel at the beauty of our area but do not appreciate driving that much. My dh makes that drive 5-6 times a week and he truly enjoys it but is looking forward to the sale of our house so we can move closer to his work.
Okay, getting ready to lower the price and have different pictures posted with our listing. We are waiting a few more days as our poor realtor awaits his insurance claim as his vehicle was stolen last weekend with most of his realtor equipment - including his camera. What a bummer.
We are praying all is found and returned but if not that the insurance company comes through and covers his equipment. He has full coverage but they do not want to cover everything. Hmm.
God's timing, right?! Yep, we really do want that. The sale, the price, the new location. All in His hands and perfect plan. Now to patiently await the outcome.

Did I mention peace???
ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!
Okay, now I'm heading toward that peaceful moment. Handing it all back over AGAIN!

With Him Peace Abounds
There are so many things in life that create an atmosphere of anxiety, fear, frustration... and I do not know how people go through life without the Lord by their side. Do they cast their cares upon emptyness? Do they think we do?
I know from my experiences that when I try to carry the weight of my world on my own, I stumble and fall under the burden. I get depressed, more frustrated, fearful or anxious. When I turn to the Lord and turn them over to Him, I can keep my focus where it belongs and go about my life in greater balance and clearer visioned.
With many changes taking place in our lives right now I often find myself trying to fix things or fighting for control. When I take the time to reflect on my thoughts and actions I am better able to release it all, knowing that I am only able to control what I think, say and do and my responsibility is to making the best choices and decisions that I can. When others choose differently the responsibility for their choices fall fully upon them, whether good or bad, they own them, not me.
I am finding peace more frequently and in greater abundance when I let go and let God. He has the master plan, the full knowledge and a deeper love.

Comment turned blog post.
I'm still trying to figure out how to find a nice little home near the woods, in the shadow of the mountains in which I can spend my days quietly.
I think I will have to wait another 10 years. Then all my kids can choose to visit me and we can provide a tranquil spot for them to find respite from the busyness of the world.

Summer
Summer is touted as the time for relaxation, vacation and soaking in the sun. I have found that this is not always the way it works as life continues to consume time with mundane activities such as cleaning toilets, cooking meals, running errands...
I'm working diligently at accomplishing the daily tasks in such a manner that all I have to do is maintain so that I do have some extra time to enjoy taking a walk, going to the park, watering our garden and watching my girls grow. Work hard once and then daily tidy up the things that get dusty, dirty and disheveled.
We will not be "taking a vacation" this year but I do intend to enjoy the weeks called summer. When it gets hot I'll walk a little slower and perhaps a bit earlier or later. I'll slather my girls with sunscreen and watch them work on their swimming. I'll read a bit more, nap a few times and play with our dogs. I'll water the plants, pluck a few weeds and take time to appreciate the mighty blessings the Lord has surrounded me with.
What are you doing this summer?

A Day of Celebration
Today our dear sweet daughter, Rachel, turned 10. Double digits and growing in grace and spunkiness.
Today is also the 11th anniversary of the day I wed my heartmate. I love that we continue to grow in love each passing year. He truly is a blessing to me and I look forward to celebrating many, many more years with him!!!

Oh me, oh my...
It has been a very long time since I have been over here. We finally got our main projects completed and the house is now on the market. Glad the preliminaries are over. Now the part about keeping the house clean ALL THE TIME so we are ready for a showing is here and I definitely do not appreciate this part since we are home most of the time and we actually do things in the house. I'm trying to be sure everything is done before bed, so that in the morning all we have are beds, bathrooms and dishwasher as needed.
Decluttering really is a good thing. We have the house down to necessities and the extras we actually like and use. We are having a garage sale on Sat. to see what we can find new homes for while allowing the girls a chance to make some spending money. Come on by and we will be ready to barter. All things must go!!! Once that is over we will be able to better arrange the garage and be ready for packing as soon as we have a buyer. Yeah!!!
Right now I'm fighting some kind of virus. Started with aches and major fatigue. Then swollen glands, sore throat and misery. I'm on day four and the body aches and most of the fatigue is gone. If my sore throat would go away, I could sleep and be rested again. My dh had this a week before me and his lasted a week so I should be at the half way point. I'm ready for it to be over!
How have you all been since I was here last?? I'll pop around and get reacquainted. :)
